The Irrawaddy River in Myanmar is not only a majestic natural wonder but also an integral part of the country’s transportation system, ecosystem, economy, and livelihood of the people living along its banks. Stretching over 1,300 miles and flowing from the confluence of the Mali and N’mai rivers, the Irrawaddy River is the lifeline of Myanmar, providing essential services and resources to those who depend on it for their daily needs. One of the most significant roles played by the Irrawaddy River is its importance in transportation. For centuries, the river has served as a vital route for the movement of goods and people across various parts of Myanmar. The river acts as a natural highway connecting various towns and cities, enabling trade and commerce to thrive along its banks. Due to its navigable waters, the river facilitates the transportation of goods such as rice, timber, and other commodities, thus contributing to the economic development of the region.
Beautiful Patterns – The photo is breathtaking aerial view of the Ayeyarwaddy riverbank in summer, showcasing a stunning interplay of water and sand. The sight of the novices coming to receive alms next to the river bank with the morning sun, together with the big marble Buddha statue, is really breathtaking.
